Swimming Time

Today we went swimming at the YMCA. We got to see our Boys and Girls Club friends and swim with them! I also got to hang out with my friend before she went up north to visit her family. We rollerbladed and tried to get our annoying neighbors to leave us alone.
Sorry, this post was so short, but I have to go.
See you later!

French Braiding

It is now officially Spring Break for me! I can't wait to hunt for Easter Eggs with my cousins next week! My Grandma usually plans a HUGE Easter Egg hunt for us at her house. We will be making lots of crafts and deserts with them, so stay tuned to the blog for all the details!

Today my Mother and I learned how to French Braid. She braided my hair and I did hers. We thought it was pretty hard! See if you can spot the little loop coming out on my braid. Well, at least this day won't be all cleaning.
We have to clean a lot today because my new bed is coming this week! Our theme some for the day is Work From Home by Fifth Harmony because that's all we're going to do today! Well, I have to go!
Bye for now,
Molly

Books, Books, and MORE BOOKS

Today I am going to a book sale with my wonderful Grandparents. My Grandma has her heart set that she is not going to buy anything. (But I think that'll change😉) She loves books! (and so do I😉) That means we both have HUGE libraries! I have a whole bookcase full and I still need more room! My Grandma has a bookcase about 10 feet long 3 feet high in her basement, FULL of books! Yes, we are Book Nerds! I think I need an online system to organize all those books. (and so does she, but I don't know I'm going to get her to do it. She won't have anything to do with technology.) I love using Libib as my PLMS (Personal Library Managment System) because it adds books quickly, and it is easy to use. You can see my library here. The best part is Libib gives you a free website so others can see what books you have at no extra cost! Libib is free and the advanced options don't cost much either! I hope you enjoy Libib!

Cio!

Chocolate Milk Debate

We received your letter on if we should keep chocolate milk at lunch or not. I vote no. Did you know that chocolate milk has more sugar than a can of soda? I  believe that we should not have chocolate milk in schools because it has too much sugar, it´s not better for kids, and parents believe kids should drink white milk.
My first reason we should not have chocolate milk in schools is that there is too much sugar. For example, the amount of sugar American kids drink each week, just from chocolate milk alone, is 57 tons of sugar! That can fill a school bus! Kids drink nearly 2 gallons of sugar a year, just from drinking flavored milk each day. That is way… too much sugar!  Some kids even drink 10 - 15 cartons a week!
My second reason we should not have chocolate milk in schools is it is not better for kids. For example, one carton of chocolate milk has more sugar than a mini - can of soda! Although it does have the 9 essential nutrients, it has way too much added sugar that kids cannot burn off by sitting in a classroom all day! We cannot ignore it, childhood obesity is a big problem. So all the sugar that chocolate adds to their diet, doesn't help the situation one bit! According to Ann Cooper, ¨Chocolate milk is soda dressed up.¨ Soda is banned from our cafeteria, why not ban chocolate milk? It has just as much sugar!
My last reason we should not have chocolate milk in schools is that parents want their kids to drink chocolate milk. Even, parents like my teacher agreed. When I asked my teacher what she would say if I told her chocolate milk has more sugar than a mini - can of soda, she plainly said, ¨I believe it.¨  Parents say that kids would choose plain milk over chocolate milk if not given the choice.
In conclusion, chocolate milk should not be allowed in schools because it has too much sugar, it is not better for kids, and parents believe kids should drink white milk. If you truly care about the well - being of these kids you will remove chocolate milk from our school! Otherwise, we will all be 600 pounds by the end of March!

Google Play on an Amazon Tablet?

So we all know that Google and Amazon don't like to share. Which means that we have to put up with Amazon's lousy app store. Well, there is a way to get Google Play on an Amazon Fire. Here are the steps to get an amazing app store! (Note- This works on Fires running Fire OS 5 and above. This should be 2015 models and up.)

First, download Launcher Hijack from this link. (My Fire was the Fire 7 and I needed to install this but you might not have to if you have a lower model.) And then install the APK to your kindle. If you don't know how to, you can go to my  article and see the steps to install an APK file.
Next, download the APKs in the order that they are linked here-

1 -  Account Manager
2 - Services Framework
3 - Play Services
4 - Play Store

Then, on your fire, install the APKs from the bottom up. Then you will have the working Google Play Store on your Fire! Thanks to Love My Fire for the tutorial and links. Their article is linked here. Please see my About page for my disclaimer. I hope you enjoyed!

How to Transfer Files to a Mobile Device from Computer via USB

This step-by-step tutorial will teach you how to transfer files to a mobile device via a USB cable. You will need:
  • a USB cable
  • a Computer
  • Your mobile device
  • PDFs, APKs, Music, Books, Movies/Videos, or anything you want to transfer
First, find the USB port on your computer and insert your USB cable. Then connect the mobile device to the other end of your cable.
Next, you should get a pop-up saying you connected a new device to you computer. Select  the "open device to view files" option. Or go and manually pull up your mobile device's files.
Then, find the appropriate folder/section to put your media into. Find your media and right click on it and then select copy. Go to your folder/section and right click and paste your media into the folder/section. Let it copy to the folder/section. If asked if you want to convert, you can make the choice. I recommend not converting it if it is a popular format like mp3 or mp4, and just getting an app to handle it.
Finally, disconnect your mobile device and enjoy your media and files!

How to Make Your Kindle Fire Tablet Look and Feel Like an Android

Here is a tutorial on how to make your Kindle Fire look and feel like an Android phone or tablet.
  1. First, download the 2 APKs listed here: APK 1 and APK 2. You can download them straight to your Fire or transfer via computer. Then, on your Fire, go to Settings and then to Security, and toggle "Apps From Unknown Sources" to on.
  2. Next, open the docs app on your Fire and install the APKs.
  3. Then, go to Settings, then scroll to Accessibility, and turn on "detect home button press."
  4. Finally, click the home button and your Android home screen will show up! You might notice a flash to the default Fire home screen but don't worry this can be fixed! Press the home button repeatedly until the default home screen only flashes for a second or two. This cannot be fixed completely, because the APKs have to work around the default Fire settings, but it will get smoother as you do this
Notice: This was tested on the Fire 7 (2017 - 7th Generation) and should work on the Fire HD 8 (2016 - 6th Generation), the Fire HD 10 and any previous version. I am not responsible for bricked devices or problems that may occur. Do this at your own risk. The original posts are linked here and here from the site https://www.xda-developers.com/. Spotify

My favorite music app is Spotify right now. On Spotify, you can listen to pretty much any song, all for free! My sister loves listening to her favorite tunes, like Caillou, Peppa Pig, Thomas. She even has her own playlist. They have all the current songs on Spotify. I love this app so much. They also have an app. They also give you 30 minutes of ad free time if you listen to or watch a short ad. So worth it! I think all music lovers should have Spotify! I hope you enjoyed  my blog post!
