- First, download the 2 APKs listed here: APK 1 and APK 2. You can download them straight to your Fire or transfer via computer. Then, on your Fire, go to Settings and then to Security, and toggle "Apps From Unknown Sources" to on.
- Next, open the docs app on your Fire and install the APKs.
- Then, go to Settings, then scroll to Accessibility, and turn on "detect home button press."
- Finally, click the home button and your Android home screen will show up! You might notice a flash to the default Fire home screen but don't worry this can be fixed! Press the home button repeatedly until the default home screen only flashes for a second or two. This cannot be fixed completely, because the APKs have to work around the default Fire settings, but it will get smoother as you do this
